Abstract
Diarrhea or gastroenteritis is a major cause of children death in the world due to it‟s high morbidity and mortality rate. Morbidity of diarrhea in Indonesia is around 200 – 400 incident per 1000 population each year and most of these people less than 5 years. The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between formula feeding with the incidence of diarrhea in 0 – 6 month old infants at RSUD Pasar Rebo, East Jakarta in April – June 2015. The number of samples was 82 infants consists of 41 infants with formula feeding and 41 infants with breastfeeding. The type of this research was descriptive analytic with cross sectional study. Collecting data wuth the questionnaire. The analytical method using chi square analysis. The results showed that there were 38 infants with diarrhea, which is 28 infants given formula feeding and 10 infants given breastfeeding. The result of chi-square test showed that there is a relationship between formula feeding with the incidence of diarrhea in 0 – 6 month old infants with p-value 0,000.
