The Tanjung Tree (Mimusopselengin Linn.) have many function as medical herbs. Leaf of Tanjung Tree can be used to overcome an inflammatory symptom. Chemical content of tanjung tree leaves are flavonoid and tannin which are the chemical content to reduced the inflammatory reaction. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of anti-inflammatory
action on extract of Tanjung tree leaves (Mimusopselengin Linn.) on foot of male rat induced
by carrageenan with plethysmometer as measuring instrument. This study is an experimental
design using the Tanjung tree leaves (Mimusopselengin Linn.) that has been extracted. The sample of this study are 25 white mice were divided into 5 groups. Each of these groups: Possitive control dexamethasone), negative control (CMC-Na),the doses EDPT I(100mg/kg),the doses EDPT II 200mg/kg), the doses EDPT III (400mg/kg). The result of this research were tested with One Way Anova and generate significant value 0,000 (P<0,05).
Furthermore, the analysis will be done using Post Hoc test to see the significant difference of anti-inflammatory effect. The result of this study show the dose I, dose II, and dose III shows the anti-inflammatory effect in terms of decreased of the foot volume. Based on the percentage of edema inhibition, dose III show the greater anti-inflammatory potential than dose I and II. Three doses of the test substance has the smaller potential than positive control.
