Abstract
Pneumonia is an inflammation of the lung parenchyma. In 2007, the increased prevalence of pneumonia in Indonesia was 2.1% whether in 2013 was 2.7%. Advanced age, gender and comorbid diseases often associated with factors that increase the risk of pneumonia. This study aims to describe risk factors for pneumonia in patients with pneumonia hospitalized at Persahabatan hospital on January to December 2014 period. The design study using descriptive with cross sectional approach. The sampling technique is random sampling technique using 40 samples. The data used is secondary data research instrument medical record. The result showed an average of pneumonia patients were male (62.5%) and age > 65 years of age or patients in elderly (30%) and congestive heart failure found that as many as 14 patients (35%) are the most common comorbid disease that increases the risk of pneumonia , followed by diabetes mellitus were 13 patients (32.5%), Tuberculosis were 7 patients (17.5%) and lung cancer as much as 6 patients (15%).
