THE DESCRIPTION OF KNOWLEDGE LEVEL OF CARIOGENIC FOOD IN PKK MOTHER IN THE PRIGI VILLAGE OF SIDOHARJO TEPUS GUNUNGKIDUL Suparyati1*, Suharyono1, Furaida Khasanah1 1Dental Nursing Depatment, Health Polytechnic of Health Ministry Yogyakarta Jalan Kyai Mojo No. 56, Pingit, Yogyakarta *yeti83001@gmail.com ABSTRACT Background : Cariogenic foods are foods that can cause caries. Caries is a dental and oral health problem that is often found in the community. Knowledge of cariogenic foods is needed by mothers to maintain dental and oral health in the family. By knowing food that causes caries so that it can prevent the occurrence of dental caries. Riskesdas data in 2013 showed that 25.9% of Indonesia's population had dental and oral problems in the last 12 months. This research was carried out because there had never been any research on prigi hamlets about the knowledge of cariogenic foods. Research Purposes : Knowing the description of the level of knowledge about cariogenic food in PKK mothers in Prigi Village, Sidoharjo Village, Tepus Gunungkidul. Research methods : This type of research is descriptive with a cross sectional approach. The population in this study were 40 people. Sampling method using purposive sampling technique with a sample size of 40 people. This study uses a questionnaire level of knowledge about cariogenic foods, the data obtained will be processed and presented in the form of tables and percentages. Research result : The results of the data analysis showed that mothers' knowledge of cariogenic food was included in the good category of 77.5%. Conclusion: Mother's level of knowledge is included in the good category. Keywords: Mothers Knowledge, Cariogenic Foods
