Abstract

Dental panoramic tomography radiographic technique has become very popular in dentistry. An understanding of the panoramic examination causes the patient to have a different perception of panoramic examinations. Perception is shown through attitudes and actions such as avoiding nibble bite rod and move when eksposi underway. It is a form of interpretation of the understanding of the panoramic examination. This study aims to determine the patient's perception of panoramic examination along with the factors that influence it.This research is a descriptive qualitative research conducted in Radiology department of RSUD Tidar Magelang. The subjects were ten outpatient examination panoramic in Radiology department of RSUD Tidar Magelang. Data collection methods used observation and interviews. The results were analyzed with interactive models to make it easier to draw conclusions and suggestions.The results of this study consisted of a patient's understanding of the panoramic examination along with the factors that influence the patient's perception and interpretation in the form of attitudes and actions during checkup panoramic examination at Radiology department of RSUD Tidar Magelang. Understanding, consists of the purpose of inspection of panoramic, panoramic type of inspection, the use of X-rays in a panoramic examination, and the use of the apron. Thus forming a patient's perception of panoramic examinations were influenced by the experience of patients and poor communications.
