The limitations of students with visual impairments affect their ability to optimize oral hygiene, as evidenced by the debris condition of the index is still poor. To improve understanding of how to brush your teeth properly, it can be done with counseling. Toothbrushing counseling using the jaw model method is a skill education that can help blind students to clean teeth from leftovers. Counseling brushing with assistance also helps blind students to be more focused on what they will do according to guidance or direction from the counselor. The purpose of this study is to determine whether there is a difference of effectiveness between brushing tooth elucidation with jaw model method and the method of facilitation to debris of blind student index Dria Adi Semarang.The type of this research is experiment research and the method used quasi experiment and the research design is pretest-posttest desaign group. Subjects in this study all students with visual impairment SLB Dria Adi Semarang which amounted to 14 people, will be divided into two groups with saturated sampling technique, into 7 children in one group, the group model of jaw and a group of mentoring.The results showed the average index debris before brushing brushing with a jaw model model of 2.5 and with a mentoring of 2.4. Difference of index debris before and aftercounseling with palatal model is 1.3 and with assistance 1.6. The conclusion of this research, brushing counseling with the method of facilitation has more influence on index debris change than in brushing tooth brushing method method. Suggestion in this research is to apply brushing counseling with method of accompaniment.
