Abstract

Maternal mortality in Indonesia as many as 359 per 100,000 live births (Health Departement RI, 2014). The number of maternal deaths in Batang Regency in 2014 amounted to 13 cases, 2015 of 13 cases and 2016 of 16 cases. Maternal deaths can be prevented by introduction the sign of pregnancy danger. This research aimed to determined the effect of health education with audiovisual and leaflet media to knowledge and attitudes of pregnant women about sign of pregnancy danger in Kandeman Public Health Center Batang Regency. This research have done in Kandeman Public Health Center Batang Regency. The corresponding research design used quasi experiment with one group pretest and posttest design approach. Population were pregnant women at Kandeman Public Health Batang Regency in Mei 2017 as many as 62 peoples. The technique of sampling used total sampling. The instrument of data collecting used questionnaire.The result showed that there was an effect of health education with audiovisual (?: 0,001) and leaflets media (?: 0,001) to knowledge and attitudes about sign of pregnancy danger in Kandeman Public Health Center Batang Regency. There was difference in the effectiveness of health education with audiovisual and leflet media to knowledge and attitude about sogn of pregnancy denger in Kandeman Public Health Center Batang Regency with ?: 0,001. From the result of this research, expected midwife can provide counseling continously about sign of pregnancy denger to pregnant women so that it can do early detection of pregnancy and checking pregnancy regularly.
