Abstract

The area of Puskesmas Sekaran is the health center with the lowest coverage of exclusive breastfeeding in Semarang City with the percentage of 11.56% in 2015 having increased 6.2% when compared to 2016 of 17,76%. Based on the report of the Exclusive breastfeeding Puskesmas coverage exclusively in the first quarter of 2017 no infants aged 0-6 months exclusively breastfed. The purpose of this research is to know the correlation between knowledge, tradition, class participation of pregnant mother, and support of health worker to exclusive breastfeeding practice. This research was conducted in Working Area of Puskesmas Sekaran Semarang City, with descriptive analytic design with crossectional approach. The population in this study were mothers who had babies aged> 6 months to 8 months in May 2017, using cluster random sampling technique. The results showed that there was no significant relationship between knowledge and practice of exclusive breastfeeding with P value 0.436> 0.05. There is a significant relationship between tradition and exclusive breastfeeding practices with P value 0.005
