Abstract

According to Sutomo B. and Anggraeni DY. (2010) toddlers is a general term for children aged 1-3 years (toddlers) and preschool children (3-5 years). The problem of malnutrition in Batang regency in 2014 is 115 toddlers, 2015 to 117 under fives, 2016 increased again to 120 children under five. Puskesmas Kandeman in 2016 cases of malnutrition (BB / U) as many as 18 balita.The purpose of this study to determine the description of factors causing malnutrition incidence in infants in the Area of Puskesmas Kandeman Batang Regency 2016.The research method is descriptive, with Cross Sectional approach. The population in this research is toddlers with malnutrition in the area of Puskesmas Kandeman of Batang Regency, which is 12 children.The results showed that most of the children under five years old were malnourished 0-23 months old, ie 8 (66.7%). Gender of under fives with malnutrition 6 (50%) male and 6 (50%) female. The intake of malnourished children under five is mostly 10 (83.3%), malnourished infants 9 (75%), with diarrheal diseases 8 (88.9%), poorly malnourished parents' Is Basic Education that is mother 8 (66.7%) and father 10 (83.4%).From the results of this study for health workers are expected to provide counseling accompanied by demonstrations processing of toddlers good and true to meet the nutritional needs of children. Cooperation across sectors also needs to be done to overcome malnutrition.
