      Abstract
      ABSTRACTFresh fruit consumption and rich in vitamins, minerals, fiber and water can facilitate tooth cleansing. Apples are one of the fruits that can clean teeth from food scraps, there are various types and colors of apples. Apple has an interesting shape and has many benefits. Apple also has tannin content. Tanin is a substance that works to clean and refresh the mouth, so it can prevent dental caries and gingival diseases. The purpose of this research is to know the difference before and after chewing apple to saliva ph changes at student dormitory bhakti husada polytechnic health kemenkes semarang year 2017.This research using experimental research method, experimental research or experiment (experimental researc) is a research with experimental activities (experiment), which aims to determine the symptoms or effects that arise, as a result of the existence of a particular treatment or experiment, the sample is taken as much 32 people.The results showed that from 32 respondents showed by chewing apples can affect the change of saliva pH from neutral to salivary pH base before chewing apples at most on neutral state of 47% and saliva pH after chewing most apples on a 100% alkaline state. To students and society in general dapt suggested to use apples as daily consumption because the content contained in apples can raise saliva pH so that inhibits the process of caries.Keywords: Chewing Apple Fruit, pH Saliva
