Abstract

Many parents are less knowledgeable about early childhood sexual education and still feel taboo to provide sexual education to their children because they do not know the right method of delivery. This study aims to determine the effect of education on early childhood sexual education to the knowledge and practice of parents in the care of children.This research uses experimental research, Quasy experiment research design by using Pretest-Postest Control Group Design which will be done in Sukorejo, Gunungpati, Semarang. The subjects of this study were mothers who had a old toddler 36-month - 48 months. The data were collected using questionnaires and observation sheets. The analysis used is univariate and bivariate analysis using Dependent T-test and Independent T-test.The result of this research is there is significant influence of education about early child sexual education to parent knowledge in parenting with p value 0,007 and there is significant effect of education about early age sexual education toward parent attitude in parenting with p value 0,001. Between the intervention and control groups there was a significant difference in knowledge in parenting with p value 0,000 and parental attitudes in parenting with p value 0.020.With this research is expected health workers to further promote health promotion on early childhood sexual education. It is expected that parents are able to apply the material of early child sexsual education in parenting in everyday life.
