Common problems experienced by patients with mental disorders are lack of self-care such as activities doing daily work, especially dental and oral hygiene. To maintain oral hygiene, the most recommended and executed action is to brush the gig. The purpose of this study was to determine whether there is a relationship between way to brush teeth and index debris in patients with mental disorders RSJD. Dr. Amino Gondohutomo Central Java Province.This research uses descriptive quantitative research method with cross sectional approach. The population in this study was taken with purposive sampling of 30 rehabilitation patients in RSJD. Dr. Amino Gondohutomo Central Java Province. Data analysis method that is used is quantitative description. The measuring instrument used is the index debris checkword and check the way of brushing teeth filled by the researcher. Research is done by checking index debris before and after brushing.The results showed that most mental patients had medium tooth brushing method and categorized as good index of 11 respondents with 36.7% percentage. There is a tendency to correlate between tooth brushing and index debris in mental patients of RSJD. Dr. Amino Gondohutomo Central Java Province
