      Abstract
      ABSTRACTBackground: This study aims to determine the procedure of lower abdominal MSCT examination in cervical cancer cases, the reason for giving contrast media per rectal of water mixture 300 cc and water soluble 2 cc and the reason of use scanning area from diaphragm until symphisis pubis.Methods: The type of this research is qualitative research with case study approach. Data collection methods used were observation methods, interviews with three radiographers, two radiologists and one sending doctor and documentation of the radiographs. The data obtained is then reduced, categorized and made open coding chart so that it can be drawn conclusions and suggestions.Results: The results showed that the procedure of examining lower abdominal MSCT in cervical cancer cases at Radiology Installation of Siloam Hospital Surabaya using contrast medium per rectal 300 cc water and 2 cc water soluble. The reason for using a mixture of 2 cc water soluble and 300 cc water contrast media to produce a thin contrast so that the organs around the rectum area can be distinguished and as a window of cervical metastase in the rectum area. Reasons for the use of scanning areas from the diaphragm to symphysis pubis to evaluate the presence of metastases and abnormalities in the abdominal organs as a whole both the upper abdomen and the lower abdomen.Conclusion : The reason for using a mixture of 2 cc water soluble and 300 cc water contrast media to produce a thin contrast so that the organs around the rectum area can be distinguished and as a window of cervical metastase in the rectum area. Reasons for the use of scanning areas from the diaphragm to symphysis pubis to evaluate the presence of metastases and abnormalities in the abdominal organs as a whole both the upper abdomen and the lower abdomen.
