Abstract
MRI knee joint examination should use fat suppression method to suppress the fat in order to obtain an optimal picture. The fat suppression method used is SPIR, SPAIR and PROSET. In Radiology Siloam Hospital, the use fat suppression method using SPIR as routine protocol in musculoskeletal examination, while SPAIR and PROSET has advantages in describing musculoskeletal when compared with SPIR. The purpose of this research is to know the difference of image information of anatomy and quality of knee joint image and the best fat suppression method for MRI knee joint examination.The type of this research is quantitative research with experimental approach. The study was conducted by MRI 1.5 Tesla at Siloam Hospital Surabaya. Data were 10 images of MRI Knee Joint T2WI sequence with 3 variations of fat suppression (SPIR, SPAIR and PROSET). An image assessment was performed by 3 respondents with ACL, PCL, meniscus and bone objects. Data analysis was done by Friendman Test and Wilcoxon Test to know the difference and mean rank value in fat supperssion method.
