Abstract
ABSTRACTBackground : Examination of MRI Brain in the case of Intracranial Aneurysm at Radionuclear Installation RSPAD Gatot Soebroto Jakarta was conducted by using 5 sequences. The aim of this research is to know the procedure of MRI Brain examination on Intracranial Aneurysm Case and To know the reason of using sequence T2 Axial TSE, T1 Axial SE, T2 Axial Tirm Dark Fluid, Axial DWI and 3D TOF MRA on examination MRI Brain procedure in case of Intracranial Aneurysm at Radionuclear Installation RSPAD Gatot Soebroto Jakarta. Methods : This type of research is qualitative with case study approach. Data was collected in May-June 2017 at the Radionuclear RSPAD Gatot Soebroto Jakarta with observation method, interview with radiographer, radiology specialist and sending doctor, and documentation. The data obtained from the study were analyzed by interactive model, with several stages of data collection, data processing, data presentation, discussion and conclusion. Results : The results of this study indicate that the procedure of MRI Brain examination in the case of Intracranial Aneurysm using 5 sequences of T2 Axial TSE, T1 Axial SE, T2 Axial Tirm Dark Fluid, Axial DWI and 3D TOF MRA done without special preparation. The first sequence used is T2 Axial TSE because it provides a pathological picture of hypergens in the presence of fluid (blood or oedem) in a tissue. Then T1 Axial SE SE sequence is used to look at anatomy rather than brain. When combined with the Short TR will result in well-visualized fat and water contrast. In the T2 Axial Tirm sequence Dark Fluid is usually used to suppress fat and is combined with fluid techniques. While the Axial DWI sequence is usually used to detect restricted areas in the brain and 3D TOF MRA sequences are used to identify the size, shape and location of Intracranial Aneurysms. Conclusion : The use of 5 sequences is very precise in improving the detail of the image, using a short scan time was able to diagnose the patient. On the MRI Brain examination the patient is expected to cooperative.
