Abstract

Background : The liver is usually evaluated in abdominal CT using soft tissue window setting. Liver window setting have a equal to the attenuation level of the parenchyma (50 HU), and a narrower window width (150 HU) than the soft tissue window. The settings with a narrower window display enhances the grey scale contrast of the liver, and improves the visibility and detectability of hepatic lesions. This research aim to know the difference of liver organ anatomic image information on abdominal CT examination with clinical of liver tumours among liver window usage with soft tissue window.Methods : This was a quantitative research with an experimental approach. This research uses 64 slices Toshiba Aquillion CT Scan at Department of Radiology of Dr. Moewardi Hospital Surakarta with Liver Window settings and Soft Tissue Window. The research results were obtained based on assessment of respondent through the questionnaire include Right Lobe of the Liver, Left Lobe of the Liver, Parenchyma, Border Liver, Hepatic Vein, and Portal Vein. The data analysis using the Wilcoxon Test.Results : The results showed that there was no difference in liver organ anatomic image information on abdominal CT examination with clinical of liver tumours among liver window usage with soft tissue window. The significance value of Wilcoxon test of overall liver organ anatomy is 0.830 (p value > 0.05). The better window setting on produce information liver organ anatomic image information on abdominal CT examination with clinical of liver tumours is Soft Tissue Window. Based on the results of the mean rank, the value of the mean rank using Liver Window is 20.00 while in Soft tissue window is 26.75.Conclusion : Based on these results showed that there was no difference in liver organ anatomic image information. The best window setting on produce information liver organ anatomic image information on abdominal CT examination with clinical of liver tumours is Soft Tissue Window.
