MRI Lumbal with Implant use is an anatomical cross-sectional imaging technique using the principle of nuclear magnetic resonance of the hydrogen atoms in the body. performed on patients with implant use. This technique is accomplished by the addition of Orthopedic Metal Artifact Reduction (O-MAR) software which can reduce the artifacts due to the implant around Lumbal, clarifying the bone structure near the implant especially on the spinal cord and the radic nerve or bone where the implant insertion so that the Lumbal image becomes optimal to enforce a diagnosis. This research is aimed to know the procedure of Lumbal MRI examination with implant usage, knowing the reason of O-MAR software addition and To know the image information that resulted in the addition of O-MAR software on Lumbal MRI examination with implant usage in RSUD dr. Saiful Anwar Malang.This type of research is qualitative with case study approach. Data collection methods used were direct observation, in-depth interviews with two Radiology Specialists, two Radiographers, one sending doctor. Then performed data analysis so that it can be taken conclusions and suggestions.The results showed that the procedure of MRI Lumbal examination with patients using Implant was done by adding O-MAR software pieces and Sagittal T2 SEMAC sequences, SEMAC Sagittal T1, Axial T2 MARS, Coronal STIR SEMAC. The reason for the addition of O-MAR software can reduce the artifacts because of the implant around the lumbar, to bone the structure of the bone near the implant. Image information produced by O-MAR software has been able to display the spatial anatomical image structure such as bone structure of corpus, lamina, pedicle, spussususs process, intervertebral disc, facet joint, spinal canal spinalis medametis, unadjusted artifacts so as to establish a diagnosis.
