Abstract

The medical record should be managed and protected so that it is safe and confidential. In storage room medical record outpatient RSUD Kota Salatiga, there is already AC but they are damaged and in front of medical record room, there is no warning sign so that there is still parties other than medical record officer who entered the room. The purpose of this research is to know the aspects of security and confidentiality of medical record in storage room of outpatient medical record of RSUD Kota Salatiga.The research method used is descriptive qualitative. Subjects in the study were the Head of Medical Record Installation and outpatient medical record storage officer. The object of the research is the security and confidentiality of medical record. Data collection methods used were observation and interview. The safety of medical records from the physical aspect is still unsafe from the temperature and humidity, sunshine, and water attack, from the chemical aspect there are officers who found to eat in the room, the biological aspect is safe because there is already camphor in storage shelf. While from the aspect of security, patients still carry their own medical records to the policlinic, there are parties other than medical record officers enter the room, and officers do not use tracer. In order to maintain the security and confidentiality of medical record, it is necessary to have adequate facilities and infrastructures, medical records officers should also be trained related to maintaining the security and confidentiality of medical records.
