      Abstract
Background: Low back pain during pregnancy is defined as axial or parasagital discomfort experienced by more than two-thirds of pregnancies. Measurement with VAS (Visual Analog Scale) clinically has low accuracy and is subjective.. The use of electromyographic devices in pain measurement has a high level of accuracy and is non-invasive to the mother. Objective: This study aimed to analyze the results of the measurement of the intensity of lower back muscle pain in pregnant women in trimester II and III using Visual Analog Scale (VAS) and electromyography. Methods: This research is a descriptive observational study, the researcher tries to describe a comparative picture of the measurement of electrical activity phenomena that occur in the lower back muscles of pregnant women in the second and third trimesters. The subjects of this study were 15 people. Data collection was conducted using a VAS questionnaire and electromyography. Results: The results of this study indicate that the frequency of electrical activity of the lower back muscles of trimester II and III pregnant women with VAS pain scale on 5 is 2.2 times / minute, pain scale 6 is 18.13 times / minute, on pain scale 7 is 15.60 times / minutes and pain scale 10 is 17.80 times / minute. The mean VAS scale on lower back muscle pain compared to the action potential of producing averages on pain scale 5 is 1.48 Volt, pain scale 6 is 1.588, pain scale 7 is 1.21 Volt and pain scale 10 is 1.70 Volt. Conclusion: The results of this study indicate that the frequency of lower back muscle trimester II and III did not have a tendency to correlate with VAS pain scale experienced by patients. VAS scale lower back muscle pain has a tendency to be directly proportional to the action potential of pregnant women in the second and third trimesters.
