Abstract

The recession of the gingiva is the State or condition of the marginal gingiva more apical of cement enamel junction and is usually accompanied by the opening of the root surface of the tooth there are internal and external factors that influence the incidence of Gingival recession. Based on preliminary results of a survey that has been conducted in community RT 05 RW 12 Puskopkar Pudakpayung on at 85 people, obtained results 22 people experience the reviewer of the gingiva. The purpose of this research is to know the factors that influence the incidence of Gingival recession on communities RT 06 RW 12 Puskopkar Pudakpayung. This research is both analytic with cross sectional survey. Sample Community RT 06 RW 12 Puskopkar Pudakpayung inclusion criteria have a recession of the gingiva and aged 20-50 years as many as 30 people. Samples taken in purposive sampling. Methods of data analysis used to use statistical calculations using the Chi-Square. Data retrieval is done by examination of plaque, calculus, abnormalities of teeth and filling of the questionnaire how to brush our teeth. The results showed the plaque index (p-value 0.04), calculus (p-value of 0.026), abnormalities of teeth (0.004 p-value) and how to brush your teeth (the p-value. 0.026) influential in the event of recession of the gingiva. While the regression analysis indicates that the abnormality of tooth position dominant effect in the event of recession of the gingiva with p-value 0.002 and OR 1.020. It is recommended that the respondent can apply the behavior of maintaining oral health is good and true in everyday life as well as using the technique of brushing your teeth the right way and not doing intense pressure at a time when brushing your teeth to avoid gingiva recession getting worse.
