Abstract

Tooth loss is the release of one or more teeth from its place. Tooth loss can also occur due to caries, periodontal disease, and trauma. According to the results of the 2013 RISKESDAS, the prevalence of tooth loss in Central Java was 2,9. This study aims to determine the relation between knowledge and attitudes to maintain dental health toward the rate of tooth loss at the age of 35-45 years in Desa Dukuhlo, Kecamatan Lebaksiu, Kabupaten Tegal.This research is analytical observation. The design used in this study was cross sectional. The number of samples used in this study were 50 people. The sampling method uses purposive sampling and based on inclusion and exclusion criteria. Data retrieval instruments used questionnaire sheets and observations using a tooth loss examination sheet and data analysis using the SPSS Kolmogrov-smirnov test and Spearman Rank Corellation.The results showed that there was a relation between knowledge and attitudes of maintaining dental health and the rate of tooth loss p-value 0,032 and p-value 0,019 (
