Abstract

The factors that affect which is the behavior of ignoring dental health. One effort to overcome dental and oral health problems can be done by providing education on dental and oral health to patients carried out by health workers. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the level of ability of dental nursing students in providing education on the level of knowledge of patients about dental health in the nursing care department of the Semarang nursing department.This research method uses a cross sectional design. The sample in this study amounted to 58 respondents from fourth semester DIV dental nursing students and patients who visited the care service lab taken in total sampling. Data collection techniques are observations to assess the educational ability of students and questionnaires to measure patient knowledge. Data analysis was performed by univariate analysis and bivariate analysis. To find out the relationship between independent variables and dependent variables Chi-square test was used.The statistical test results obtained p-value = 0.000, indicating that there was a significant relationship between the level of ability of dental nursing students in providing education on the level of knowledge of patients about dental health at the Semarang Jkg Care Service Lab.
