Abstract
The highest maternal mortality occurs in the puerperium which bleeding is the main cause. The highest cause of postpartum hemorrhage is uterine atony or lack of adequate uterine contractions during puerperal. The lack of uterine contractions can inhibit the process of uterine involution. The combination of oxytocin-endorphin massage can increase the release of oxytocin and endorphine hormone, provide a sense of comfort and increase the oxytocin hormone production which is responsible for uterine contractions so it can accelerate the uterine involution process. Puerperal gymnastic can also increase contraction and retraction of the uterine muscles. The purpose of the research was to determine the effectiveness of the combination of oxytocin-endorphin massage with postpartum gymnastic towards uterine involution in postpartum mothers .This type of research was Quasy Experimental with nonequavalent control group design, while the sample technique was purposive sampling. The samples were 30 normal postpartum mothers at Gubug 1 Health Center in Grobogan Regency. Data analysis univariate and bivariate used Independent T-Test.The results show that there are differences in uterine fundus height before and after intervention in both of groups (p = 0.001). The combination of oxytocin and endorphin massage has proven to be more effective in postpartum in accelerating the uterine involution process in normal postpartum mothers. From the results of this research, it is expected that health workers are going to apply a combination of oxytocin-endorphin massage and puerperal gymnastics when they do postnatal care.
