Background: Hypertension without treatment results in complications and disruption of target organs. Prevention of hypertension is carried out in various ways including yoga and hypnotherapy exercises.The purpose of this study was to explain the effect of yoga asanas and hypnotherapy on blood pressure in hypertensive patients.Method: using the method quasi experiment with a pre-test and post-test control group design. The study population in this study was grade I hypertensive patients in Banyumanik District, Semarang. The sample technique used purposive sampling. The sample consisted of 40 respondents, each group consisting of 20 respondents. The intervention group was given 30 minutes of yoga asanas practice, 15 minutes of hypnotherapy and Captopril 25mg 2 x 1 for four weeks. The control group only consumed Captopril 25mg 2 x 1 for 4 weeks.Results: Changes in the systolic blood pressure of the intervention group at 152.25 mmHg changed to 121.60 mmHg. The mean diastolic blood pressure of 86.55 mmHg changes to 77.20 mmHg. The value means before treatment in the control group was 150.15 mmHg which changed to 145.35 mmHg. The value means of diastolic blood pressure before treatment amounted to 89.95 mmHg changed to 84.40 mmHg. With a value of p = 0.000Conclusion: Yoga asanas be given for 30 minutes, hypnotherapy 15 minutes and Captopril 25 mg 2 x 1 for 4 weeks can reduce systolic blood pressure and diastolic blood pressure compared to the control group.
