THE RELATION OF STRESS LEVEL TOWARDS STROKE PREVENTION BEHAVIOUR ON HYPERTENSIVE CLIENTS IN EAST DENPASAR I PRIMARY HEALTH CENTER, DENPASAR CITY ON 2018
Hypertension is a condition in which the systolic blood pressure is more than and equal to 140 mmHg and the diastolic blood pressure is more than and equal to 90 mmHg. Hypertension can cause stroke complication, so that the stroke prevention behaviour needs to be done. The way to prevent stroke is by the change of lifestyle, that is stress level. This research aims to know the relation between stress level with the stroke prevention behaviour on hypertensive clients in East Denpasar I Primary Health Center, Denpasar City on 2018. The type of research used is non-experimental research with correlational type and cross-sectional approach by using non probability sampling with purposive sampling. The number of samples is 176 people. The research was done from April to May 2018. Data collection used DASS 42 questionnaires and the stroke prevention behaviour. The research result shows that the majority of clients with hypertension from age 40 – 49 (54,5%), average age is 45,94 years, the youngest to the oldest is 31-59 years, the most age is 40 years, the most gender is male (54%), the most job is housewife (20,48%), the most education is high school (55%), the most stress level is normal (39,5%), the most stroke prevention behaviour is good (77,8%). Hypothesis test used spearman test with p value is equal to 0,000 (α is equal to 0,05) and r value is equal to -0,60. The conclusion: there is significant relation between stress level with stroke prevention behaviour on hypertension clients in East Denpasar I Primary Health Center. The suggestion is expected to emergency nurses and students can socialize about the stroke prevention behaviour and do community service that focuses on improving the stroke prevention behaviour on hypertension clients.
