Hygiene Sanitation Relationship with E. Coli Contamination in Soft Drink at Central Foods GOR Agus Salim Padang in 2019

ABSTRACT
Snack food is food and drink that is processed by food craftsmen at the point of sale or served as ready-to-eat food for sale. The hygiene poor sanitation in the production process that goes through, both in the processing process to the presentation to consumers allows contamination of snacks that result in snacks not meeting health requirements. One of the bacteria used as an indicator of the occurrence of food pollution is E. coli. This study was conducted to determine the relationship between sanitation hygiene and E. coli contamination in snacks at the food center GOR Haji Agus Salim Padang.
The type of this study was an observational descriptive analytical study with a cross sectional approach and laboratory examinations were carried out to determine the number of E. coli and data analysis using the chi square test.
The results of this study note that out of 33 soft drink samples there were 21 eligible soft drink (63.6%) and 12 soft drink were not eligible (36.4%). On personal hygiene variables found a significant relationship with E. coli contamination with a value of p = 0.012 and the snack processing processing variables also have a significant relationship with E. coli contamination with a value of p = 0.001 but there was no significant relationship to location sanitation variables sales of soft drink with E. coli contamination with a value of p = 0.690.
It is better if the Padang City Health Office conducts supervision and guidance for sellers to increase knowledge about merchants' personal hygiene and drink sanitation so that they can avoid foodborne or foodborne diseases at the food center GOR Haji Agus Salim Padang.
