ABSTRACT
The problem of sexual violence against children in West Sumatra is still high, which is 70.4% of cases in 2016. The city of Padang is the highest contributor to sexual violence with 69 cases in 2017, in the same year the Pasie Nan Tigo Urban Village was the most urban village in children, which is 47% of cases. The effects of sexual violence on children include lack of self-motivation, stress and even inflammation of infections and PMS. The need for health promotion is given to parents as the closest person to the child in an effort to prevent sexual violence in children from an early age. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of health promotion on parental knowledge in the prevention of sexual violence in early childhood in the village of Pasie Nan Tigo, Padang City in 2019.
The type of this research was to experiment with the design of one group pretest-posttest. Data collection was carried out on February 14 - March 2, 2019 in the kindergarten in the Pasie Nan Tigo Sub-District. The population is the mother of all kindergarten students in the Pasie Nan Tigo Subdistrict totaling 105 people with a sample of 20 people using purposive sampling technique. Data collection using questionnaires with data processing techniques editing, coding, entry, tabulating, cleaning and data analysis using McNemar.
The results showed that knowledge before being given health promotion was mostly in the poor category (85.0%) and after being given health promotion knowledge became a good category (95.5%). The results of bivariate analysis showed a value of p = 0,000 (p
