ABSTRACT
Deficiency Fe anemia is anemia caused by lack of iron in the blood, which means that the concentration of hemoglobin in the blood is reduced by disrupting the formation of blood cells. Data from the Health Research Association in 2013, the prevalence of anemia in pregnant women in Indonesia amounted to 37.1%. Results reported by KIA in the Health Center Koto Berapak 2015 showed that as many as 35.7% of cases of pregnant women with anemia and increased in 2016 to 37.3% in the year. This study aimed to determine the effect of counseling on iron deficiency anemia on knowledge, attitude and Fe intake and vitamin C. In pregnant women in Nagari Koto 2019.
The design of this study Pre Experiment with pretest posttest. Respondents are pregnant women, amounting to 24 people with purposive sampling technique. The respondents was given treatment 2 times with the same material. Primary data include data on knowledge, attitudes and Fe intake and vitamin C while the secondary data include characteristics of respondents. The analysis is done by using Paired-Samples T Test, with a confidence level of 95%.
The results showed that there is an influence on increasing knowledge (p = 0.000), attitude (p = 0.002) and the intake fe (p = 0.039) before and after counseling. But, there is no effect on intake of vitamin C (p = 0.098) before and after counseling.
Advice can be given to the community, especially for pregnant women to regularly follow nutritional counseling to prevent anemia. It is expected that the use of nutrition counseling with a lecture and demonstration can continue to be developed in order to increase knowledge, attitudes and Fe intake and vitamin C.
