ABSTRACT
Little milk production in the first days after childbirth is an obstacle in early breastfeeding. Surgical wound pain (92%), discomfort (78%) and anesthetic effect (74%) occurred in mothers after Sectio Caesarea causing inhibition of oxytocin hormone release, so that non-pharmacological effort is needed, one of them is Marmet Technique, a combination of breast milk and massage the breast so that the reflex of the ASI is optimal. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of Marmet Technique on breastfeeding in postpartum mothers with Sectio Caesarea in the Midwifery Joining Room in Dr. RSUP M. Djamil Padang in 2019.
This type of research is quantitative with a quasi experimental design with pretest - posttest one group design. The study population was postpartum mothers with Sectio Caesarea in the Midwifery Joining Room RSUP. Dr. M. Djamil Padang with a sample of 20 people, samples were taken by purposive sampling technique. The type of data used is primary data obtained by observation of breastfeeding before and after treatment. Analysis of univariate and bivariate data was processed computerized using paired t-test.
The results showed that the average ASI expenditure before the marmet technique was 0.5 cc, and after the marmot technique the average milk output increased to 39 cc on the third day post partum.
