Factors related to Use Contraception In Childbearing Women In Koto Katik Urban Village of Padang Panjang in 2019

ABSTRACT
Data from BKKBN of West Sumatera in 2017 recorded the number of family planning acceptors in the city of Padang Panjang as the lowest number 3, the cumulative number of active family planning participants 5.495 people (62%). Many factors affect the low coverage of contraceptive use. The impact of low contraceptive use contributes to increased fertility rate, morbidity and mortality of maternal and neonatal, increases unwanted pregnancies and the incidence of abortion. The purpose of this study was to analyze the factors related to use contraception in childbearing women in Koto Katik Urban Village of Padang Panjang in 2019.
Thistype of research use analytical descriptive method with a cross sectional approach to 85 childbearing women which is implemented in Koto Katik Urban Village on May 15 until June 15, 2019. Sampling was taken by cluster sampling technique. Data collection through interviews with questionnaires. Data processing by editing, coding, entry, tabulating and cleaning. Univariate data analysis with statistical descriptive and bivariate analysis using the chi-square test.
The results of this study found that 52.9% of childbearing women did not use contraception, 50.6% of childbearing women had a low level of knowledge about contraception, 55.3% of childbearing women had a negative attitude towards contraception, 52.9% of childbearing women did not get husband's support for contraception.
There was a significant relationship between knowledge (p = 0,000), attitudes of women of reproductive age (p = 0,000) and husband's support (p = 0,000) with contraception use in Koto Katik Urban Village in 2019. Therefore, It is recommended to family planning officers at the Koto Katik Health Center make modifications to counseling activities on contraception that not only focus on childbearing women, but also for men of reproductive age.
