ABSTRAC
Breeding place control is useful for breaking the chain of transmission of DHF. Efforts to deliver health information about breeding place control of Aedes aegypti Mosquito Nests need to be conveyed to the community from an early age, especially in school-age children. It is expected that with the passage of the Mosquito breeding place control program it can reduce dengue cases which are endemic diseases in the city of Padang. This study aims to determine the effect of using mosquito-character book covers on student notebooks to improve students' knowledge and attitudes about breeding place control of Aedes aegypti
This study was pre-experimental using the design of the one group pretest posttest, the researchers gave treatment by attaching the cover of a mosquito character to the home work books of grade IV and V students of SD 29 Purus for 2 weeks. Before the treatment, the pretest was carried out first, then the treatment and after that was done posttest.
Based on the results of the study, there is the influence of the use of mosquito-character book covers to increase students' knowledge and attitudes about breeding place control of Aedes aegypti in SDN 29 Purus in 2018. This is evidenced by the results of statistical bivariate analysis of knowledge, p-value of 0.0001
