Since May 29th, 2006, there has been a mud volcano disaster with gas at the gas exploration area of PT. Lapindo in Sidoarjo Regency. The disasster causes health impact to the community living near the exploration area such as Upper Respiratory Infection (URI). The objectives of this assesment was to determine impact of this disasster on the community health. Results of the assessment showed, no fatal causes because of the disaster. It is recommended that monitoring of the environmental pollution and diseases should be enhanced, and for the refugees in the camps improve personal hygiene and sanitation.
