Abstract Brucellosis is an infectious disease  from livestock  animals as dairy cattle, beef, goats and sheep to humans by bacteria Brucella sp. Brucellosis causing fever undulant and disorders reproduction in humans but their mortality rates are low. The majority of dairy farmers did not know if brucellosis can spread to humans. The level of knowledge of  dairy farmers is needed to considered several factors related to good management dairy practices such as washing hands after contact with dairy cattle. Washing hands is one of biosecurity way to ensure animal and human health and avoiding brucellosis. The research aims to understand the influence of the knowledge of brucellosis in humans , the level of education, the duration of working , the history of fever and age against the behavior of washing hands after contact with the dairy cattle. The number of respondents based on the proportion test, as many as 18 people worker who selected as criteria inclusion were give the  close questionnaire that contains questions to know knowledge of human brucellosis, demographic data and  washing hand after contact with the dairy cattle. The research results that only 33.3 % of respondents who know human brucellosis, 66.7 % of respondents did not know if brucellosis can infect human .As many as 61.1 % of respondents did not wash their hand after contact the dairy cattle. Variable age,the duration of working in dairy farm  and the history of fever have p value<0.02. Conclusion: variable age , the duration of working in dairy farm and the history of fever have impact on behavior washing hand after contact with the dairy cattle.
