Abstract
ABSTRAK Ekstrak kulit manggis kini banyak digunakan sebagai pengobatan alternatif oleh masyarakat sebagai anti-oksidan tanpa mengetahui efek samping. Konsumsi Monosodium glutamat (MSG) digunakan sebagai penambah rasa dalam makanan dapat menyebabkan berbagai efek samping karena pembentukan radikal bebas dalam tubuh seperti disfungsi hati. Penelitian bertujuan untuk melihat ekstrak etanol kulit manggis (Garcinia mangostana L) terhadap perubahan makroskopik Perubahan Pria Mice (Mus musculus L) strain DDW setelah Monosodium Glutamat (MSG). Metode penelitian menggunakan desain true experimental bertujuan membandingkan efek ekstrak etanol kulit manggis pada kerusakan hati yang disebabkan oleh administrasi MSG. Dari 15 tikus, tikus DDW galur jantan, terbagi menjadi tiga kelompok perlakuan, yaitu kelompok kontrol / air suling (P0), pemberian MSG kelompok (P2), pemberian MSG dan EEKM (P3). Penilaian makroskopik mencit setelah pemberian EEKM hati tidak menunjukkan perbedaan yang signifikan dalam memperbaiki kerusakan hati dari pemberian MSG (p> 0,05). Makroskopik hati mencit yang telah rusak dengan pemberian MSG, masing-masing bisa diperbaiki dengan ekstrak etanol kulit manggis Kata kunci: ekstrak kulit manggis, dan MSG ABSTRACT Mangosteen peel extract is now widely used as an alternative treatment by society as an anti-oxidant without knowing the side effects.
